The Çanakkale Autism Education Center is designed to create an inclusive and supportive environment for teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Rooted in a deep connection with nature, the center harnesses the therapeutic qualities of Çanakkale Lake as a backdrop to enhance sensory engagement, emotional well-being, and social interaction. The building is designed with voids that shape sensory gardens, allowing students to experience a range of sensory stimuli tailored to different levels of autism.

The watching deck is designed as a tranquil retreat that offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe the seasonal migration of flamingos in their natural habitat. Positioned with a clear, unobstructed view of the lake, the space creates a deep connection with nature, promoting both relaxation and environmental awareness.
The pergola structure, adorned with hanging greenery, provides filtered sunlight and a calming ambiance, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the day.
The built-in seating and planters blend into the landscape, creating an immersive setting where visitors can quietly enjoy the spectacle of flamingos gracefully gliding over the water, reinforcing the center’s commitment to nature-integrated design and sensory well-being.
The interior design emphasizes soft, diffused lighting, creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere that reduces sensory overload. Built-in furniture, such as recessed bookshelves and integrated seating nooks, provides a seamless, clutter-free environment that enhances functionality and accessibility. The seating elements feature soft, textured fabrics, offering a tactile experience that promotes relaxation while ensuring durability and comfort

The exhibition space serves as a dynamic platform for creativity and self-expression, showcasing artwork created by students. Designed with an open, flowing layout, the space ensures easy navigation and encourages interaction. The large windows provide ample natural light, enhancing the vibrancy of the displayed pieces while maintaining a calm and inviting atmosphere. The exhibition not only celebrates student achievements but also fosters a sense of pride and belonging, reinforcing the importance of art as a communication tool for individuals with Autism.
